On Wednesday, October 22, 12 representatives from six Effingham Area companies toured Stevens Industries in Teutopolis. Randy Thoele from Stevens Industries took the group on a plant tour, highlighting areas in the plant where the Stevens' team had improved efficiencies. After the tour, Steven Industries supplied lunch for all attendees and the group shared their Lean Manufacturing experiences and asked the management team about Stevens' products, challenges and business outlook.
We would like to thank the Stevens Industries team for opening their plant and sharing so openly with the group!
The Effingham Area Manufacturer's Network is coordinated by Versatech to provide an educational, benchmarking and networking experience for manufacturers within an hour of Effingham. Only manufacturing company representatives are allowed to attend, unless the group agrees to a speaker on a particular topic that requires a speaker from outside manufacturing. Membership to the group is currently free, with the exception of occasional charges to offset lunch costs for members attending.
The next Manufacturer's Network meeting will be an after hours event at the Effingham KC Hall on 12/9/14 in conjunction's with Versatech's public Lean Overview offering! If you are an area manufacturer, you are welcome to join us at 3 pm to view the last round of the simulation, or at 4 pm for the after hours event. Versatech will supply light appetizers at this event. This is a great chance to meet and mingle with others in the manufacturing community before the holidays!
